Falling for Fall!

My Fall Feature is doing triple time, but each challenge is so connected!  Frilly and Funkie's current challenge is Fall into Fall, using the color palette of Fall, such as Brown, Orange, Olive, Rust, Cranberry, Harvest Gold.   You could be the winner of a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique or receive a Winners Badge!   And as luck would find it, The Funkie Junkie Boutique is also this week's sponsor of the Compendium of Curiosities 2 challenge #22, in which there is another chance to win a $25 gift certificate to this lovely boutique!  This week the lovely Linda instructed us to open our books to page 57, Riveted Patchwork.  Now as luck would have it, this challenge also fits in quite well with Tim's 12 Tags of 2012, September!  Got to love how this worked out!  Linking this up to Saturday's I Spy at Sizzix!
You know the rules, we cannot tell you how the technique is done.  Buy the book!  What I can tell you is this!  For the leaves, I used Tim's dictionary paper and inked them up, edged with Rusty Hinge and then clear embossed.  The little letters behind the filmstrip are also from the Lost and Found paper.  I pushed the larger gear and time piece into Lemon Squeeze ink and then clear embossed for a little touch of gold!  The start of Fall numbers were cut from chipboard using my Cargo Numbers die, inked with LS and then clear embossed.  The outer tag was distressed with Rusty Hinge and then I sprinkled on gold embossing powder, which collected nicely in areas and still leaving some rust shinning through.  I really liked that!
Come on and join in!  It was great fun working on this tag, well except for the foil tape peeling!  Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting!  Have a wonderful finish to this week!

Alter It at FSC!

It is always such great fun to alter an item and that is exactly what we are doing at Fashionable Stamping Challenges!  Just remember that your alteration must have some form of stamping as we are a stamping challenge blog!  There is always a prize from Cottage Crafts, you could be among the "Top 3" or be under the "Spotlight,"  so come on by and join in all the great fun!  My most talented DT Sisters have some really amazing projects, so stop on by FSC for more fabulous alteration ideas!

For my piece, I used a clay pot and covered it with white gesso.  From there, I added Distress Stains and blended with a paint brush.  Once I like the colors, I gave this a light spray with a sealer.  A coat of Mod Podge went over the top and then some white tissue paper.  Once dried, I used up some colors on my Distress Ink applicators to add a little extra color!  Another quick spray with a sealer and then a coat of Mod Podge.  The leaves from Heartfelt Creations were stamped with Archival Coffee onto some painted/inked card stash and clear embossed.  Love when you can use up scraps!  I cut these out and glued them down with MP and then covered the entire pot with a few coats of MP.
After all was done, I needed to add little embellishments and had a hard time deciding.  Then I remember a lovely little box of goodies, my sweet friend, Vada, had sent to me!  The little Fall colored Maple leaves, I thought were just perfect!  Thank you, Vada!   BTW, if you don't know Vada, you should visit her, because she is one amazing artist!

Enjoy the weekend and again your visits are deeply appreciated.

Saturday StepXStep

You guessed it!  It is my turn to do a "Saturday StepXStep" for Frilly and Funkie and I decided to play with stamps and candles!  With Halloween just around the corner, I could not help but pull out my new stamps from Tim!  I just love those little "trick or treaters."  For all the details and more pictures on these candles, stop by Frilly and Funkie!

I sure hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  How many are enjoying cooler temperatures?  It is cooler in the evenings and early morning hours, but still in the mid 90's during the day!  I don't believe we will see any Fall colors!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Candy Winners and CC2#20

Enameled Stamping on Page 44 of the Compendium of Curiosities #2, is the lesson at Linda', Studio L3.  Again out of respect for Tim, we cannot tell you how we did the technique.  This was fun as always and I even had the time to play this round!

What I can tell you is what I did after I inked up my tag, but I will keep it brief, as I think you can figure it out!  I cut a leaf, inked, shaded and stamped the veins, then clear embossed.  The pumpkin was cut, inked, and crackled with Rock Candy!  The crow and cat are black shrinky dinks!   Now that is brief!  Sorry for the blurry picture, it was a little late here and I wanted to get this done!
Again I want to thank all of you who take the time to follow my blog and comment!  Now I would love to announce the two winners of a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique and here they are!!!!  Congratulations Shelly and Sandra, send me an e-mail and I will give you the code you need to start shopping!  WooHoo!   Just to let you all of you know, Linda has moved her store front and is offering an additional 10% off Grand Opening Sale!  Now that is a sweet deal!

The Great Outdoors!

At Frilly and Funkie, we are celebrating "The Great Outdoors" and this week, it is the Funkie Team's turn to play outside!  A quote about "outdoors or nature" is a requirement, so come on and join in and enjoy some fresh air!   There is some incredible inspiration over at Frilly and Funkie from both the Frilly and Funkie DT, so go feast your eyes!
Opps, I am Missing One Photo Corner!
Before I start on the inspiration for my DT challenge piece, I currently am having a blog candy giveaway to celebrate reaching the 400 follower mark!  So if you would like to participate, please click HERE!  The winners will be announced tomorrow!  I used a GIANT black tag, because I wanted to incorporate some photos from our recent trip to Green Bay and I kept it all nature based.  I was very impressed with the beauty of the state of Wisconsin and that was my inspiration!  The photos were printed on photo paper, cut and then I added the photo corners.   I learned one pretty cool trick about stamping on black and if you use a tan/ivory/vanilla craft ink and then clear emboss, it turns a cool shade of blue!  Take a look at the map! For the edging and plane, I used craft white and white embossing powder!  The plane was stamped and cut for little added depth.  The stamps are all Tim's and the compass was bleach stamped.  This was fun to put together and a great reminder of celebrating our son's birthday and a visit with Vada, which I will cherish always!
There will be a random draw for a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique as well as a DT best project competition for a Winner's Badge!  Someone always wins and it could be you, so come on and join in!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment!  Have a great week and get outdoors!
